MINUTES OF October 4, 2024 

CALL TO ORDER ( 5:45PM )
President Paul Siegel called the October 4, 2024 meeting of the Napa/Solano Chapter ICC to order. There were 28 members and 1 guest speaker in attendance.

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS
President: Paul Siegel � present, Vice President Tom Garcia: present Secretary: Steve Jensen present, Treasurer: Dan Kasperson� present.

INTRODUCTIONS: ( 5:50 PM )
Self-introductions were made by 28 members.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Motion to approve July and September minutes was held to the November meeting due to late posting and mailing.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: ( 6:45 PM )
President Siegel indicated that nomination and election of officers for next year will occur at the November chapter meeting.  Paul indicated that Carl Crawford, former building official from the City of
Dixon recently passed away.  Carl was one of the founding members of the Napa/Solano Chapter.

SPEAKER OF THE EVENING ( 6:15 PM )
Rich Choate from the Osborne Company provided the latest information on CSST gas pipe.  His presentation included code requirements, installation procedures and certification of installers.  Rich stated that his product, was only sold through wholesale outlets and that homeowners could not buy this product.  

COMMITTEE REPORTS: ( _________ PM )

Education:  David Clich�, Solano County Building Official, announced that the chapter was sponsoring an ICC class entitled �Transition to the 2006 International Building Code (non-structural)�.  The seminar is being offered on November 14, 2024 at Ulatis Creek Cultural Center , 1000 Ulatis Drive , Vacaville .  Cost is $125 for members, $140 for non-members.  The flyer can be downloaded from the chapter website.

CALBO:  No report

Building Standards:  No report

Treasurer:  Dan Kasperson reported that the chapter had $4400 in it�s checking account and $32,000 on deposit in CD�s.

OLD BUSINESS:
None.

NEW BUSINESS: ( 6:50 PM )
Several chapter members attended the ICC conference and code hearings held in Florida .  Those in attendance described the process and experience.  It was noted that the fire service from California was well represented at the hearings.  Rick Weiland was named Chief Operating Officer for ICC.  Weiland succeeds James Lee Witt.

Many of those in attendance indicated that it was important for individuals to be involved in the code change process.  The next hearings will be held in May at a location in Rochester , New York .

ADJOURNMENT: ( 7:15 PM )
There was a motion to adjourn and President Paul Siegel adjourned the meeting
at 7:15 PM . The next meeting is at 5:30 P.M. on November 1, 2024 .   Dinner at the Paradise Valley Golf Course, 3990 Paradise Valley Drive Fairfield .
