This seminar addresses the critical concepts of the 2009 International Residential Codes regarding fire sprinkler systems for one- and two-family dwellings and townhomes. The content discusses the issues that are the basis for fire sprinkler system design, plan review and inspection of sprinkler system in one- and two-family dwellings or townhomes.

SPEAKER: Kevin Scott is the Western Regional Manager for Fire Services with the International Code Council. He comes from a 30 year career with the Kern County Fire Department, CA. Kevin worked up through the ranks in his career and served the Fire Department in several different capacities, retiring at the position of Deputy Chief.
Mr. Scott has been heavily involved in the development of the building, fire and life safety codes since 1988. He served as Chairman of the Southern California Fire Code Committee and later he served on the Board of Directors for the Southern California Fire Prevention Officers Association under the California Fire Chiefs Association. He spent four years as a member of the Uniform Fire Code Development Committee. He then served on the International Fire Code Development Committee from 1998 until 2004 when he was elected to the Board of Directors for the International Code Council.
Mr. Scott has been a long time instructor for the California State Fire Marshal’s Office, the International Conference of Building Officials, the International Fire Code Institute and the International Code Council.
Mr. Scott is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Fire Protection Association, the International Fire Marshal’s Association and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.

TIME: Sign-in begins at 8:00 am; the Seminar will start at 8:30am and end by 5pm.
