  1. CALL TO ORDER
    • Meeting was called to order at 5:42pm.
  2. SELF INTRODUCTIONS
    • Round table introductions with 24 people in attendance.
  3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
    • Lead by Rick Ishibashi
  4. APPROVAL OF MARCH MINUTES
    • A motion was approved by Doug Hughes and seconded by Greg Shriver
  5. TREASURER REPORT
    • Erik Hagström- Please see the attached treasurer report, current chapter balance of $26,396.88.
  6. DINNER
    • Provided by the Paradise Valley Golf Course- Sandwich Deli and Salad Buffet
  7. CODE QUIZ

  8. SPEAKER
    • Karyn Beebe is a Regional Manager with ICC Government Relations. Karyn is a California licensed professional engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional with forensic investigation expertise.
    • The presentation provided an overview of ICC’s services and their use in design, permitting, and maintenance of the built environment. At the outcome of the presentation, participants will obtain best practices for utilizing the codes (electronic and print), changes to the code development process, and website navigation to leverage ICC member resources, chapter benefits, and the latest industry update. Please see the attached PowerPoint presentation also QR Codes will be incorporated in the next code cycle. Thank you Karyn great presentation!
  9. MEMBERSHIPS AND DUES
    • All memberships that are paid need an application completed. Erik provided a discussion regarding the need for continued membership and applications for a sustainable chapter organization.
    • Current memberships- Erik Hagström- Erik reviewed the current membership count, this is also attached in the treasurer’s report.
  10. AGENCIES REPORT
    • CALBO- Doug Hughes provided an update on the leadership and advocacy day as well as the CALBO ABM the week of April 22nd. This will be in Indian Wells Ca. Link
    • ICC Region 1- N/A
    • California Energy Commission- Please see the attached from the Energy Commission as well as the survey in the chapter email. Please see the code development timeline below.

    • CBOAC- County Building Officials of California- Andrea Coley provided fliers and announcement for the CBOAC ABM, they will be having the annual ABM at the Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa November 4th-6th. Link. Andrea also provided information regarding SVABO education institute May 6th to the 9th, please see the link for registration and class information.
  1. NEW BUSINESS
    • Solar App training-April 17th-Mark your calendars! Please see the attached flier seats are still available.
    • ICC Chapter Leadership Academy Orlando Florida April 5th-7th – Nandi is attending this year and we look forward to the report of the event at the next meeting.
    • Chapter Lunch meeting July 11:00-1:00 Fairfield Cordelia Library. The next meeting will be headed at the Fairfield Cordelia Library from 5:30-7:30. The chapter will also host the chapter meeting during the lunch hour from 11:00-1:00 in July at the Fairfield Cordelia Library. More information to come!
  2. OLD BUSINESS
    • Website update- Finishing touches have been submitted to the web designer for the board to review. This will be a continued item until the website is complete.
    • Education Committee Volunteers- Rick I is requesting additional members to assist with education and training for the chapter, if interested please reach out to the board members or email the chapter at napasolano@nsicc.org
  3. INSPECTOR TIME
    • Please bring your code items for discussion!
    • Is your jurisdiction requiring a vapor barrier at the existing slab for garage conversions to an ADU? This topic was discussed at the chapter meeting and the chapter consensus was that a vapor barrier would be required per CRC R506.3.2. Additional discussion was provided regarding the use of “Red Guard” as an appropriate vapor barrier in the instance of a garage conversion or an un-habitable space to habitable.
    • Rick L mentioned there will be future battery storage system training provided by the chapter in the near future.
    • Kevin Scheumann provided an invitation to the chapter from REACO Redwood Empire Association of Code Officials regarding Simpson Strong-Tie training in Stockton May 7th from 10am- 1:00pm. Please see this link to attend.
