  1. CALL TO ORDER
    • Meeting was called to order at 5:32pm/ 25 people in attendance.
  2. SELF INTRODUCTIONS
    • New Board of Directors.
      • Rick Ishibashi-President

  3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
    • Rick lead the pledge of allegiance
  4. APPROVAL OF DECEMBER MINUTES
    • January was the installation dinner no formal meeting.

  5. TREASURER REPORT
    • Erik Hagström
    • Attach is the treasurer report- Current balance $26,292.90
  6. DINNER
    • Provided by the Paradise Valley Golf Course- Mexican food buffet
  7. CODE QUIZ
    • Provided by: BPR Consulting Group Ron Beehler-Excellent code quiz provided, please see the attached.
  8. SPEAKER
    • Gina Grifiths Rodda-Gable energy
    • Discussion regarding indoor lighting controls/T-24 compliance with non-residential and multi-family occupancies Gable Energy
    • Excellent presentation by Gina Rodda; items discussed:
      • 2022 Energy Code/ currently working on the 2025 Energy Code
      • Reach codes and provide compliance with source energy requirements and going all electric
      • 2025 Energy Code will model the format of the Building Code
      • Single family outdoor lighting under the mandatory requirements.
      • JA8 Lighting requirements for recessed lighting
      • Discussed options for outdoor lighting compliance when the lighting is attached to a building.
      • Compliance documentation-Nothing for SFD due to the mandatory requirements, CF2R is required in the field for field verification of compliance.
      • Non-residential and high-rise multifamily lighting. NRCI (Non-residential Certified Installation) form required for compliance.
      • Virtual Compliance Assistance provided by Energy Code Ace.
      • Alterations for outdoor lighting require energy code compliance if 10% or more of the lighting is being replaced/ altered.
      • Outdoor lighting exemptions; Temporary lighting, Back light, Up-light and glare Cal-Green requirements and exemptions.
      • Fact sheet shown for multifamily energy compliance-LMCC Form registered for HERS compliance.
  9. MEMBERSHIPS AND DUES
    • All memberships that have paid membership dues need an application completed for chapter documentation. Please see the attached membership application.
  10. BYLAWS COMMITTEE REPORT
    • Update and discussion
    • Amended bylaws sent to the chapter for review.
    • Open discussion regarding the bylaws previously sent to the chapter.
    • Greg Shriver provided a summary review of the changes and updates to the bylaws.
    • Ron provided support to the modifications to the bylaws.
    • Rachel provided additional clarification regarding the bylaws and changes.
    • Rick Ishibashi- Provided clarification on the mission statement.
    • The chapter voted to adopt the amended bylaws; Greg Shriver provided a motion to vote to adopt the bylaws. Second provided by Steve Smith, motion passed and amended bylaws are approved.
  11. AGENCIES REPORT
    • Doug Hughes: CALBO updates – Presentation not provided this month
  12. NEW BUSINESS
    • Roxanna Recinos-Serna: Provided a brief presentation on SVABO upcoming events. Discussed outreach with other chapters and chapter committees. Roxanna discussed the SVABO education institute May 6th-9th and provided a flier to the group and described the various presenters during the education week. SVABO link
    • Roxanna Recinos-Serna discussed the permit tech committee that SVABO provides and the monthly meetings. Ron Beehler emphasized the education training week that is provided by SVABO.
    • ICC Leadership Training- Nandi provided a discussion regarding leadership training in Florida that is provided by ICC. Nandi received an invitation to attend. ICC reimburses the cost for the training. There was a discussion regarding bringing potential items to the training that could assist the chapter.
    • Andrea Coley provided an update on the CBOAC and the future meeting in Santa Rosa. Three days of education, please email Andrea with any education questions to bring back to the CBOAC. Three days of education provided by the CBOAC on September 9/30-10/2 at the Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa. More information to come. CBOAC link
    • Rick Ishibashi mentioned the need for committee education members, and future Solar app training. More to come with the training. If you would like to join the education committee and assist the chapter, please reach out to any of the board members to discuss.
  13. OLD BUSINESS
    • Website update-Brian Frenger provided an update regarding the website. The board of directors will view the draft website provided by ICC next week and bring it back to the chapter.
